IFOMT has recently changed its name during a vote by its member organizations to IFOMPT, the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative PHYSICALTherapists

The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists is an organization of specialist physiotherapists with an internationally recognized post-graduate qualification.

IFOMPT is a sub-group of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT). (WCPT's next general meeting will be in 2011, to be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Europe).

IFOMPT's vision statement is:

"World-wide promotion of excellence and unity in clinical and academic standards for manual/musculoskeletal physiotherapists."

• PLEASE NOTE that we are attempting to change our terminology from IFOMT to IFOMPT on this site to reflect our new name.  This will occur over the next several weeks, as each IFOMT term must be manually changed to IFOMPT, quite a task when you consider the number of times this term is listed on the website.   Most PDF files uploaded before October 2009 will continue to use the term IFOMT vs IFOMPT at this present time.
